Capturing the beauty of black gold

Background

Nodi Coffee is an independent chain of boutique coffee houses spread across Central district in Hong Kong. Established in 2012, Nodi has been a key player in Hong Kong’s craft coffee scene. Nodi believes coffee fosters conversations.

Strategy

We worked with key brand stakeholders to dissect and understand the existing Nodi brand. We analysed Nodi’s competitors and worked with the Nodi team to dissect and understand what Nodi’s social values are. A key thread evolved from the strategy sessions; Nodi helps people connect through coffee.

This altruistic brand value was combined with their intrinsic value of providing the highest quality service, both in knowledge and product. These two key brand values and positioning were translated into Nodi’s visual language.

Expression

Once distilled, key threads were teased out of the brand strategy. The idea of connecting people through coffee and coffee as the catalyst in creating chance meetings. The visual language is bold and clean reflecting Nodi’s no nonsense approach to coffee roasting.
